They helped transform amateur astronomy through these (and many more) computerized optical innovations, which made way for today's astrophotography and smart telescope innovations. Meade has a wide fan base of enthusiastic users and will be remembered for their contribution to astronomy.

In 2021, Optronic Technologies, Inc., the parent company of Orion Telescopes & Binoculars acquired the assets of Meade through their newly formed legal entity, Meade Acquisition Corp.  Optronic Technologies, Inc. is an American and employee-owned company located in Watsonville, CA.
