The Sky-Watcher 50DX Evoguide APO telescope is an upgrade from the original EvoGuide 50 and now includes a very nice ring/dovetail set as we4ll as a prime focus ring.  The 50DX has a variety of useful applications. It can be used as a finder scope on another OTA, it can be used as a guide scope, or it can also be used as a small, portable, wide field telescope for different applications, including astronomy.

Mounting to your guide camera to the EvoGuide 50DX is a breeze with convenient M42 rings on the back of the scope, and a beefy single-speed focus ring helps you nail focus. Although initially designed for guide cameras, the EvoGuide 50DX APO Guide Scope Astrograph can be used to shoot fast, low focal length astrophotography when used in conjunction with a focal reducer (not included), producing stunning wide-field images.

This Evoguide 50DX APO Scope from Sky-Watcher has an aperture of 50 mm and it is an apochromatic (APO) refractor, since it has a matched set doublet lens configuration with one ED element. It has short focal length of 242 mm, at f/4.8 for a wider field of view than a normal telescope. It also incorporates a nice, smooth Helical focuser mechanism with a large, knurled ring for setting the focus. As mentioned earlier, the new EvoGuide 50DX now comes with rings and a dovetail that will allow you to easily connect it to a mount fitted with a Vixen-style saddle.
