The Celestron RS-232 Cable - NexStar allows your NexStar telescope to be controlled using a laptop computer or PC. Once connected, the NexStar can be controlled using popular astronomy software programs. This cable connects to your PC'''s serial port. For use with a USB port, you must purchase a serial to USB converter from your local electronics retailer.

The Celestron RS-232 Cable - NexStar plugs into a socket on the bottom of the Nexstar hand controller on Nexstar GT, Nexstar GPS, Advanced Series Computerised, Nexstar "i", CGE telescopes and the older Ultima 2000. The RJ45 plug on the other end plugs onto the COM1 port on most laptop and desktop computers, or into a USB adaptor to plug into newer computers.
