The SkyQuest XT10 PLUS is the latest addition to Orion's popular line of deluxe upgraded Dobsonian reflector telescopes. With great features and extra included accessories, this big Dobsonian is designed to make every stargazing experience unforgettable. This 10"-aperture reflector telescope features a precise 2" dual-speed Crayford focuser, adjustable altitude axis tension, a streamlined Dobsonian base with helpful white trim, easily adjustable secondary mirror thumbscrews, and more.

The SkyQuest XT10 PLUS comes with a bevy of useful stargazing accessories including a 2" 28mm eyepiece, 1.25" 10mm eyepiece, Shorty 2x Barlow Lens, eyepiece rack, EZ Finder II reflex sight, and the popular DeepMap 600 Folding Star Chart. The SkyQuest XT10 PLUS has it all!

The SkyQuest XT10 PLUS Dobsonian Reflector Telescope is built around a 10" (254mm) diameter parabolic primary mirror mounted in a sturdy, cast-aluminum support cell. With 56% more light-grasp than an 8" telescope, you'll enjoy a significant increase in ability to observe the more subtle structures in faint galaxies, nebulas and other deep-sky objects. The 1200mm focal length (f/4.7) parabolic primary mirror of the XT10 PLUS allows you to obtain clear and crisp views at both moderate and high magnifications on clear nights with good seeing conditions. Besides stunning views of deep-sky fare, you'll be amazed by bright, exquisitely detailed views of the Moon and planets of our solar system like Jupiter, Saturn, and Mars in the Orion SkyQuest XT10 PLUS. Enhanced-reflectivity mirror coatings boost the XT10 PLUS Dobsonian telescope's reflectivity up to 94% so as much light as possible is transmitted to the eyepiece, resulting in exceptionally bright, clear views. The up/down, left/right point-and-view simplicity of the Dobsonian design is not as complicated as using a telescope attached to an equatorial (EQ) mount and tripod. With a little practice, everyone in the family can use the XT10 PLUS Dobsonian telescope to scan the heavens just like experienced amateur astronomers.

The sleek redesigned base of our SkyQuest XT10 PLUS Dobsonian not only looks great, it also features weight-reducing cutouts which help make the telescope lighter and more portable than its XT10 Classic counterpart. The base is conveniently visible, even in the dark of night, thanks to its white trim to help avoid inadvertent bumps. Topping the base (literally) is the large, 10"-aperture, f/4.7 reflector telescope optical tube with an eye-catching metallic blue color. The SkyQuest XT10 PLUS features adjustable tension knobs on the altitude axis, which provide a more customizable upgrade compared to the tensioning springs found on the XT10 Classic model. These adjustable knobs make the XT10 PLUS more versatile, since you can now customize the tension of the altitude axis of motion to allow use of heavier 2" eyepieces, heavier or multiple finder scopes, and other hefty accessories. With the altitude tension properly adjusted, using heavier accessories will not cause the optical tube to drift downwards during use.

Enjoy smooth fine-focus control with the dual-speed Crayford focuser

You'll appreciate the precise focus control provided by the big, 2" dual-speed Crayford focuser of the XT10 PLUS Dobsonian. A step-down 1.25" adapter is included to allow use of both 1.25" and 2" eyepieces. Thanks to the focuser's Crayford design, focus adjustments are smooth, accurate, and virtually free of backlash and flexure. With an 11:1 fine-focus ratio, you'll be able to make precise adjustments for sharp, crisply detailed views.

View at a variety of magnifications with two included eyepieces and a Shorty 2x Barlow

The big, 2" 28mm DeepView eyepiece will help you obtain expansive 42.8x views, while the included 1.25" 10mm Sirius Plossl ocular will provide more powerful, 120x magnification for close-up views. To boost magnification even higher, use the 1.25" Shorty 2x Barlow lens included with the XT10 PLUS Dobsonian telescope to double the power of any 1.25" eyepiece. You can use the Shorty 2x Barlow with the included 10mm Sirius Plossl eyepiece to achieve a very powerful, 240x view.

Convenient thumbscrew-equipped secondary mirror cell makes adjustments easy

Like all reflector telescopes, the XT10 PLUS will likely require minor periodic maintenance to make sure its optical mirrors are aligned, or "collimated". To make collimation adjustments nice and easy, we've outfitted the XT10 PLUS Dobsonian telescope's secondary mirror with knurled thumbscrews so you don't have to hassle with tools to align the reflecting optics of the telescope.

Bright white base trim helps avoid accidents in dark conditions

Since stargazing is best when it is very dark outside, there is always a chance of accidentally bumping into or tripping over pieces of equipment that are hard to see in low-light conditions. To help avoid such mishaps from ruining your next observing session, we've made the base of the XT10 PLUS easy to see, even in the dark of night, thanks to its highly visible white trim.

You can keep one 2" eyepiece and up to three 1.25" eyepieces at-the-ready with the included eyepiece rack. It's easy to aim the XT10 PLUS easily and accurately with the included Orion EZ Finder II reflex sight. Also included are a quick collimation cap and dust caps for the reflector telescope tube and focuser. With an assembled weight of 53 lbs., the XT10 PLUS is a lot of telescope offered at an amazingly affordable price. For easy transport and storage, the Orion XT10 PLUS telescope can conveniently be broken-down into two separate pieces. By unthreading the two altitude tension knobs from the Dobsonian base, you can detach the reflector telescope optical tube to transport each piece separately.
