This E-Lux 40 mm Eyepiece - 2" barrel eyepiece from Celestron is a great way to begin your collection of telescope eyepieces, if you are just starting in astronomy, or even if you are an experienced observer.

Get more light to your eye and enjoy the low-power, wide-field views of Celestron’s E-Lux 2” eyepiece. Designed to be used with any telescope with a 2” focuser, the Celestron E-Lux eyepiece is a 3-element, fully multi-coated Kellner design with a 56º apparent field of view offering a great magnification and field of view for viewing planets, stars, and the Moon’s surface. This 40 mm focal length E-Lux Kellner eyepiece is especially low power for the widest field of view vision with your telescope. Especially good when you need an extra bright, but wider image from fainter objects.

The 40 mm E-Lux eyepiece has a main housing that is machined from high grade aluminum with a black anodized outer surface. The internal surface of the mounting barrel has been machined with light dispersion threads that are painted matte black, to cut down on internal reflections for a clear viewing experience. Viewing through the 40 mm E-lux eyepiece is comfortable for both eyeglass wearers and non-eyeglass wearers alike, thanks to the rubber eyecups and long eye relief of 36 mm.
