The ZWO ASI585MC Color Planetary Camera uses the IMX585 back-illuminated CMOS image sensor, which uses Sony STARVIS 2 technology for zero amp glow, lower dark current noise, and a large full well capacity.  This camera is suitable for planetary, solar & lunar imaging, or for use as an all-sky or live camera to observe weather conditions.

The Sony IMX585 has 3840 x 2160 resolution and a pixel size of 2.9um. The IMX585has a diagonal size of 1-1/2", with approximately 8.29M effective pixels. This sensor has read noise as low as 0.8e, and a full well capacity of 47ke.  The compact camera body is equipped with a USB3.0 transmission interface, built in 256M DDR3 memory,  as well as an ST4 Port so you can attach an auto guider to your set-up.
