Version 4 of the Wanderer EC Flat Panel & Cover features a motor with over 50% increased load capacity, ensuring durability and preventing gear box failure. Designed to withstand low temperatures, it operates reliably even in winter conditions as low as -20°C! The life of WandererCover V4-EC exceeds 3,000 opening and closing cycles.
Ā In humid areas, dew will occur on the flat panel at night. If the dew does not evaporate before the cover is closed, it will can make the inside of the telescope damp and possibly encourage mold growth, and of course no one wants that!
To solve this potential problem, the V4-EC has built-in heating elements to keep the cover dry all night or quickly evaporate dew in the morning. The dew heater can be controlled in NINA advanced sequence using the plugin "Device Actions and Commands". Ā The user manual discusses this more fully.
Thanks to the encoder, V4-EC providesautomatic detection of the open and closed position. While it is always best to get a visual on the position of your panel, especially when shutting down for the night, if your device is not nearby and manual setting is not possible, the WandererCover canĀ automatically detect obstacles and set the open and closed position.
The ASCOM driver supports automatic or manual port selection and the connection of up to 6 devices simultaneously. Ā
The dimming controller boosts PWM dimming frequency by 100%, effectively reducing the occurrence of banding and ensuringĀ no banding during exposures of 0.1 seconds or longer. 255-level dimming meets the flat-field shooting needs, from color cameras to narrowband imaging. At maximum brightness, capturing 3nm narrowband only takes around 1 second!
Keep in mind that the luminous panel diameter should be equal or greater than the outer diameter of the telescope's dew shield or optical tube, if no dew shield will be used. Ā
