This SharpStar f/5, (10.24" aperture) Aspheric Super Cassegrain Astrograph Telescope is a perfect addition to your optical equipment if you want to do astro-imaging with a fine quality, fast Astrograph, but you may also want to do observing with a high quality Cassegrain Reflector with a moderate field of view and well-corrected, low-aberration images. This Astrograph from SharpStar is a new design which fills a previously existing gap in the astronomical telescope market place.

Compared with conventional parabolic mirrors, the process of producing, manufacturing, and testing Aspheric mirrors is much more intricate, and opticians know that these mirrors require more sophisticated testing to obtain the desired Aspheric surface figure. The Aspheric Super Cassegrain Astrograph Reflector is second to none, considering its focal ratio, aperture, and well corrected imagery. This f/5 Aspheric Super Cassegrain Astrograph from SharpStar uses an Aspherical primary mirror and a Spherical secondary mirror in its reflective design, with the addition of a 3", 3-element refractive corrector, which is built into the optical path of the assembly inside the tube.

The telescope tube is wrapped with durable carbon fiber material, artistically enhancing its appearance while sharply decreasing its weight. Sharpstar SCA260 adopts PZ33, a Pyrex-like glass, enabling the primary mirror to reach a quite stable imaging state in a short time. Both primary and secondary mirrors have an enhanced aluminum coating, thus keeping a reflectivity at more than 95%. The one-piece X-shaped strut of the secondary mirror keeps a solid and unbreakable structure. The included 3.2" Rack-and-Pinion focuser has a stronger load capacity and can be smoothly adjusted for best focus, with its dual, 1:10 fine focus adjustment.

The delicately pierced handle bar is made from CNC-manufactured solid aluminum, which can be used as a base for the attachment of other accessories. The new design of the telescope handle is an aesthetic and mechanical improvement to satisfy the demands of astronomy enthusiasts. This Astrograph includes the handle and dual rings, and also a dovetail mounting plate.

A 3" diameter, 3-element refractive corrector built into the optical path of the assembly inside the tube enables the whole optical system to better achieve full-frame imaging and control vignetting. The 75 mm back-focus and two-section thread design with M54×0.75 and M48×0.75 thread tapped on the focuser also prepare the telescope for most stock imaging devices and makes sure the celestial subject you have in the objective astrograph's field of view can be perfectly projected onto the focal plane of your camera. It has an 80 mm image circle.

This f/5 Aspheric Super Cassegrain Astrograph Telescope from SharpStar is an ideal moderately fast f/number Astrograph for doing critical astro-imaging work, but is also good for visual observation when this is desired. The Aspheric mirror design of this Astrograph will delight the most serious of astro-imaging enthusiasts when their images are revealed in their final processing.
