The QHY 1.25" Methane imaging filter is useful for capturing high altitude methane (CH4) clouds in the atmosphere of planets like Jupiter & Saturn by allowing the near-IR light centered at 890nm to pass through.
It is important to remember that this filter is for photographic use only. It is best for cameras with high infrared sensitivity, like the QHY462C, ASI185MC or the ASI224MC.
