This is a Neutral Density filter which fits into your 2" eyepieces that have internal (female) filter threads. The Explore Scientific neutral density filter transmits light uniformly across the entire visual spectrum. It serves as an excellent filter to reduce glare and irradiation when observing the Moon with any telescope 4" (10.2 cm) and larger in aperture. The ND96 filter from Explore Scientific may also be employed in the splitting of close double stars where one of the binary pair significantly exceeds the other in brightness. It has a density value of 0.9 ND. It has a total transmission specification of 13%. Fits 2" eyepieces.
