This is actually a snapshot from actual footage I took of the planet Neptune. The image has been brightened so everyone is able to see it better as we all know how far Neptune is from the Sun and how dim it is!

Nikon D800 camera body on Explore Scientific 152-mm (6") f/8 refracting telescope. Images captured over a period of 2 hours, 55 minutes, from 00:57 CDT to 03:52 CDT. Multiple frames for each image, stacked in RegiStar. Exposures from ISO 100, 1/800 second to ISO 400, 1.6 seconds. Processed in Photoshop CS6 (brightness, contrast, sharpening, colour desaturation)
