Askar 70 mm f/4.8 Super Quintuplet Astrograph (SQA)

The Askar SQA70 Quintuplet has an integrated self-flattened design with no need for additional flatteners.  This is one of the beauties of the Petzval design, with no need to perform back focus calculations.  The SQA70 offers between 37mm and 68mm connection distance, allowing you to begin shooting once the OTA is in focus.  This portable telescope supports standard and full frame cameras with an image circle of 44 mm.

This beautiful grey and black 70 mm f/4.8 Astrograph has a focal length of 336 mm.  The quintuplet optical design is air-spaced and includes two pieces of ED glass.  The central star point at the corner is less than 2.4um, and also features excellent full-field illumination and MTF data.

The Askar SQA70 includes a 2.5" dual speed focuser.  The entire focus barrel is CNC machined with an anti-reflective internal design and matte paint, which help combat stray light.  The SQA70 focuser is compatible with most any motorized focuser on the market, should you wish to add one.  Focus travel is 32 mm.

The rear of the 2.5" dual-speed focuser is equipped with a 360º rotator.  It has a locking screw that is easy to find in the dark, a precision scale that allows you to make adjustments to the angle of rotation and note your exact location.

The end of the SQA70 is equipped with a variety of adapters, all of which are toothed and ribbed, making it easy to rotate the camera manually without slipping.  The adapters are available in M54, M48 & M42 and can be used to attach various accessories, including a variety of cameras.  Want to shoot with a DSLR or mirrorless camera?  The SQA70 can do that with no problem with its adapter system.
