Celestron’s new premiere line of high performance-level field binoculars - the Regal ED Flat Field Binoculars are designed with the most selective of all binocular users in mind: birders. From their vivid, true-to-life color resolution, expansive fields of view for ease of locating fast moving objects, and 4.9 foot close focus distance to get an even closer look when a subject suddenly pops out of the bushes and right on the trail in front of you, the Regal ED binoculars provide everything needed. For avid birders or others interested in wild life observation, or just enjoying Mother Nature's wild beauty, the Celestron Regal ED 8x42 Roof Prism Binoculars are exactly what you need!

The 8x42 Regal ED binocular provides terrific outdoor performance, making it a perfect choice for avid birders, hunters, and outdoor enthusiasts. Regal ED is packed with optical, mechanical, and ergonomic features that make it comparable to binoculars costing two to five times as much. If you enjoy any hobby which takes you outdoors into nature, and you want to see what nature has to show us, better, the Celestron Regal ED 8x42 Binoculars will delight you as soon as you use them. In addition to using ED glass, the Regal features flat field optical technology that counter-balances the normal visual field curvature convex lenses naturally show, delivering an expansive linear image all the way to the edges of the field of view. This is another reason why the 8x42 Regal ED binos from Celestron are top of the line optics, which birders and all nature lovers will appreciate.

Extra-Low Dispersion (ED) glass virtually eliminates chromatic aberration, also called color fringing, a visual defect common in binoculars. Regal ED delivers edge-to-edge sharpness with excellent color correction and razor-sharp images. Not all ED glass is created equal. Celestron’s high quality ED glass delivers visibly brighter, sharper images compared to non-ED binoculars. The difference will be especially apparent to you when you use these in low light conditions, such as at dawn or dusk.

Regal ED features fully multi-coated optics and phase- and dielectric-coated BaK-4 prisms. A binocular can be considered “fully multi-coated” when all air-to-glass surfaces are coated with multiple layers of anti-reflectivity coatings so that the maximum amount of light passes through the glass to the eye. The prism inside Regal ED is made of high quality BaK-4 glass with both phase and dielectric coatings so that more light is reflected off the prism so that it reaches your eyes.

Regal ED is composed of lightweight and durable magnesium alloy. Its tough, rigid frame is coated with rubber to stand up to hard use in the field. What’s more, the binocular is fully waterproof and filled with dry nitrogen gas to prevent internal fogging of lenses. Regal ED from Celestron can stand up to even the toughest outdoor conditions. Viewing through Regal ED is comfortable for both eyeglass wearers and non-eyeglass wearers, thanks to the durable twist-up eyecups which are included. Twist through multiple click stops to easily find the position that works best for you.

Regal ED features a close focus of just 4.9 feet, making it perfect for viewing birds, butterflies, plants, or other nearby subjects. But this 8x42 binocular also offers the magnification needed to get great views of distance subjects, plus a wide field of view so you can easily follow them as they move. No matter how you choose to observe, this versatile binocular is an excellent all-around performer. Regal ED includes both a neck strap and a carrying harness so you can choose the option that’s most comfortable for you. It’s also tripod adaptable, so you can mount it on any standard photographic tripod for extended viewing or digiscoping sessions. (Tripod adapter which must be used is sold separately.) The binocular also includes a premium protective hard shell case for safe storage or easy transport.
