Unique features include an electronic friction brake that allows the mount to stop safely.

An HAE18C mount can be controlled by a computer, either via ASCOM/Commander for a Windows PC or a third party INDI driver for a MacOS software; a Smartphone/Tablet via iOptron Commander Lite or an App like SkySafari Pro; or a Raspberry Pi device via INDI driver, “C” models (internal main board versions) with built-in Wi-Fi allow for external control without need for a handset. Those who prefer using a handset, the optional 8411 Go2Nova® controller is available. The mount has on-saddle USB and 12V ports for easier cable management. A quality form fit hard case is included.
