The QHY OAG-L, aka the M62 "large" version of the QHY Off-Axis-Guider, is designed to be thin yet solid at just 10mm thick with a weight of 149g. Adding an M62 threaded adapter ring adds only 3mm for a total thickness of 13mm. There are six 3mm through holes in the OAG for direct connection to the QHYCFW and QHY A Series cameras.

The main purpose of an off-axis guider is to use the same optical path as the main camera to avoid differential deflections that can occur when using a separate optical system for guiding. Using an OAG provides more accurate guiding and sharper images than a separate system.
The OAG-L is suitable for sensors that are larger than Full Frame, and uses a M62/0.75 adapter. Like all of the QHYOAG's, the guide camera interface is 1.25" and has a pick-off prism that collects light and sends a 7mm beam to the guide camera.
The QHY OAG line-up includes a precision 1.25-inch helical focuser that accepts our QHY5II and QHY5III cameras as well at other guide cameras with a 1.25" barrel.
Focus adjustment can be achieved on the guider by loosening the thumbscrew. Once you achieve focus, simply tighten the thumbscrew to lock focus. You can avoid possible damage to the focuser by remembering to always loosen the thumbscrew before making changes. QHY assures us that it is normal to have some slight movement to the focus ring even when it is locked.
