Used telescope, in great condition.
Comes with Free StarField 1.0X 2" Field Flattener!
The StarField Optics Gear Series 80 mm f/6 APO Triplet telescope uses extra low dispersion FPL53 glass from Ohara in Japan to produce color-free images with beautiful contrast and sharpness! This 480 mm refractor even comes with an optical test report to confirm its quality.
The internally baffled optical tube assembly is matte powder coated white with a hard anodized finish that will retain its beauty for years to come. This very portable refractor, weighing in at approximately 7.7 pounds, includes a geared dual speed 2.5" focuser with ball bearings to provide smooth accurate focusing, even when supporting a camera and other accessories. This model also comes with a Camera Angle Adjuster (CAA), which allows you to frame your subject perfectly without flexure.
Accessories include a self-centering eyepiece adapter, heavy-duty cradle rings with a built-in handle and a long Vixen-style dovetail. The handle is so convenient when moving your GEAR80 from place to place. There are plenty of places to add accessories with this set up! The rings have threaded holes, as does the removable handle. Finally, this system includes a hard case!
The StarField GEAR 80 can serve beautifully as a portable telescope for day or night with the addition of a diagonal, finder and a few eyepieces. In addition, this triplet can do some serious imaging, especially if you add the optional 0.8X reducer/flattener that will take the focal ratio down from f/6 to f/4.8.
