The Royal Astronomical Society of Canada published Observer’s Handbook is the must-have resource for advanced amateur and professional astronomers. This great Handbook has been in publication since 1907. This guide is internationally recognized as the finest annual compendium of astronomical highlights and detailed information for the year, in which it's published.

Compiled using the expertise of more than 75 contributors, the RASC Observer's Handbook is regarded as the standard North American reference for data on the sky. This product is the Canadian Edition. The Sky Month By Month section gives an extensive listing of events throughout the year. It provides two categories of data: Events which occur during the current year, and astronomical data and other information which is considered static, i.e. data which do not change by significant amounts year to year.

The Canadian Edition of the RASC 2021 Observer's Handbook provides various features such as: The times of sunrise and sunset and moonrise and moonset (for latitudes 20º to 60º N); the Moon phases and other lunar phenomena; conjunctions, elongations, etc. of the planets; location of the planets, dwarf, and minor planets and returns of periodic comets; times of meteor showers; the orbital positions of the brighter satellites of both Jupiter and Saturn; plus many more detailed features and information.

The USA Edition (other) continues to be a popular addition, using American cities for examples of sunrise and moonrise, solar ephemeris, etc. Star Parties and Planetaria are for US locations, and we have partnered with the Astronomical League for a section written by one of their members, Past President John Goss.
