Planetary Observing 1.25" Eyepiece & Filter Kit
This eyepiece and filter kit is perfect for viewing Saturn, Jupiter, Mars, Venus and the Moon, but you'll enjoy the eyepieces for deep-sky observing as well! The kit includes two Meade Aspheric Wide Angle 1.25" Eyepieces (4 mm & 10 mm) and three filters (80A Blue, 23A Red, and a Moon filter) for viewing the Moon and planets. They can be stored in the included foam-lined box for safe-keeping when not in use. Below you will find more information on the eyepieces and filters included in this observing set.
Meade Wide Angle Aspheric Eyepieces
- Includes 4 mm and 10 mm Aspheric Wide Angle Eyepieces
- Standard 1.25" Barrel Size to Accommodate Most Telescopes
- Fully-Coated Optics for Spectacular Image Contrast and Brightness
- Generous 62-degree Apparent Field of View; Wide-Angle Type
Meade's Aspheric Eyepieces have a standard 1.25" barrel size to accommodate most telescopes. Both of these eyepieces provides a generous 62-degree apparent field of view. They are great for seeing lunar and planetary details.
Each eyepiece features fully-coated optics to produce enhanced image contrast and brightness. If you're looking for an affordable way to enhance your observing experience, these eyepieces will not disappoint.
The two Meade WA Aspheric Eyepieces provide comfortable eye relief performance, too. The 4 mm has 9 mm eye relief and the 10 mm has 9.2 mm of eye relief. They are parfocal, which means you will not need to refocus much at all when switching between these eyepieces.

About the Meade 80A & 23A Color 1.25" Filters
Enjoy observations and photography of planetary surface detail that is often virtually invisible without filtration. Choose the filter that best meet your needs and see what you have been missing!
Manufactured from the finest optical glass, each filter has its color spectrum dyed into the glass instead of being done with inferior color coatings. Both Meade filters are anti-reflection coated on both sides of the glass for the highest performance and are threaded for and compatible with all Meade 1.25" eyepieces.
#23A Light Red (25% transmission): Strong contrast and enhancement of marginally defined blue-green surface detail. Useful primarily on Jupiter, Saturn, and Mars. Increases contrast between Mercury and bright blue sky during daylight observations or during twilight.
#80A Blue (30% transmission): A popular filter for the study of Jupiter and Saturn. Enhances contrast of rills and festoons in Jupiter'''s cloud belts, as well as details of the Red Spot. Brings out detail in Saturn'''s belts and polar phenomena. Very useful as a contrast-enhancing lunar filter.
About the 1.25" Moon Filter
This 1.25" Moon Filter is perfect for cutting down on the amount of lunar light that reaches your eye. Too much light can overwhelm your eyes and keep you from seeing finer details on the Moon's surface. Once you have attached the moon filter to the barrel of one of the included 1.25" eyepieces, you will be able to view more comfortably and see more detail.
