The New MallinCam SkyRaider DS432 is here at last. A Video/Imager dual-function camera with sensitivity and a high QE never seen before in this astronomy industry. Equipped with the new Sony Industrial IMX432 high performance CMOS sensor, sensitivity has now been made to match and surpass even CCD sensors on the market. Having 9.0 X 9.0 microns pixels just like professional cameras, this new deep sky camera is a must-have system for those who prefer shorter (a few seconds) exposures to get their favorite deep sky objects live on the screen as video, or to take still pictures as well. This series of cameras from MallinCam is now offered in two separate models.

NOTE: This particular product, the Model DS432c SkyRaider is the COLOR Camera Version of the two products offered by MallinCam in this series!

The cooling system is the same as that in other SkyRaider (DS10cTEC, DS16cTEC) cooled cameras. MallinCam has successfully designed a cooling chamber called refrigeration cooling - which subjects the CMOS sensor to cooling inside a triple-sealed vacuum sensor chamber controlled with a heating element mounted around the internal optical window. This heater functions to control and avoid dew formation on the optical window and surroundings. A vacuum-sealed chamber is used to eliminate the use of desiccant material and keep the sensor chamber in a pure dew-free environment, permanently!

The Sony IMX432 CMOS sensor is an industrial grade product, made to work at 100% duty cycle making this CMOS sensor last for a very long time. It will easily run all night during imaging applications. It is available in either a Color or a Monochrome version, for the purist who demands mono performance and needs increased sensitivity. The IMX432LLJ and IMX432 LQJ have a diagonal size of 17.6 mm (Type 1.1) CMOS. They are active-pixel-type solid-state CMOS image sensors with a square pixel array and 1.78 M effective pixels. This chip features a global shutter with variable charge-integration time. NOTE: A Class 1 - Scientific Grade CMOS sensor is standard with this camera from MallinCam.

Each camera is subjected to a standard 24-hour burn-in as a quality control procedure, prior to being ready for shipment to insure proper specified operation.
