SOLAR SAFE TECHNOLOGY
EclipSmart solar products feature Solar Safe filter technology providing the ultimate protection from harmful solar radiation, including both IR and UV light, and filters 99.999% of intense visible light. Celestron Solar Safe filter technology is GUARANTEED SAFE for direct solar observation and has been independently tested by SAI Global Assurance Services.
Solar Safe products conform to and meet the transmission requirements of ISO 12312-2, Filters for Direct Observation of the Sun, EN 1836:2005 + A1:2007 (E) for an E15 Filter for the Direct Observation of the Sun and, AS/NZS 1338.1:2012, Filters for Eye Protectors.
SOLAR WARNING
Inspect your solar eclipse glasses and/or photo filter before every use. Do not use and discard if the solar film is damaged, torn, punctured, or separated from the frame in any way. Do not use the glasses or photo filter in combination with any magnifying optical device (i.e., telescopes, binoculars).
Only observe the Sun with ISO-certified eye protection, such as the solar filter found in this product. Never look directly at the Sun with the naked eye or a non-filtered device of any kind. Permanent and irreversible eye damage may result.
Never tamper with or remove the permanently placed solar filters in this product. Doing so is dangerous and will void your warranty.
Never leave your solar filter product unsupervised. Make sure an adult who is familiar with its correct operating procedures is with your solar filter, glasses, or solar filtered telescope at all times, especially when children are present. Do not allow children to use eclipse glasses or other wearable filters unless they are old enough to understand their use and can follow directions. Make sure wearable solar glasses fit well so they do not slip down during use!
Never remove your eye protection when looking directly at the Sun unless during a total eclipse of the Sun, and then only during COMPLETE totality. Looking at the Sun, even for a second or two, can cause permanent eye damage. Do not take chances! Make sure you and those in your family or group ALWAYS use safe, ISO-certified eye protection any time you are viewing the Sun, with or without a telescope, and make sure your camera and any other optical accessories you may use to point at the Sun are protected as well.
