Askar FMA180 is a Triplet air-spaced APO refractor, which includes two ED (extra-low dispersion) glass lenses, providing excellent correction of chromatic aberration. The high-quality optics produce a flatter image with striking clarity, and it is tested to ensure high standards for both astrophotography and observation. Askar FMA180 reducer has a doublet spaced optical design, combined use with objective lens for crisp, clear images, especially optimized for astrophotography, which is its strong point. The focal reducer will help reduce the aberrations that can appear when doing astrophotography.

With its special F4.5 full frame reducer, the 40 mm aperture, 220 mm (f/4.5) focal length ASKAR FMA180 functios as a professional APO refractor with 180 mm focal length. This works for scenic observation and astrophotography. It's bright colors and good contrast presents images with high quality and brilliant brightness. You get superior optical quality with this Askar FMA180 Triplet ED 180 mm Astrograph Lens.

For traditional astrophotography, it is difficult to achieve a focal length of less than 200 mm with commercially available telescopes. The only choice in this range is a common, ordinary camera lens. However, the camera lenses are not optimized for astrophotography, or for infinite focus conjugates, so the result will not be satisfactory.

FMA180 from Askar provides a brand new option to astrophotographers. if you want to capture deep-sky objects, it will get superior optical performance in images just like a telephoto prime lens. In addition to photography and observation, FMA180 is also suitable for a high-performance finder/guider of your choice. The overall tube length is only a short 145 mm, and so the small size of FMA180 tips the scales at a mere 395 g, a convenient light weight.

This standard package includes a pair of tube rings and a finder bracket, which can be easily attached to numerous finder bases available for astro purposes. In addition, the finder bracket can be divided into two parts, among which the dovetail plate can be used alone, and it can be connected to the tripod with standard camera thread and other head. This Arca-Swiss standard dovetail can be connected to the corresponding plate slot more conveniently, and it can also attach to the Vixen narrow equatorial adapter. Hence you can achieve multiple connectivity operations, for both photographic purposes and visual observation.
