Sky-Watcher SynScan mounts have been designed for use by novices and experts alike. This Sky-Watcher HEQ5i Mount has many features and a precision design that will satisfy your astronomy needs. The HEQ5i provides extremely high precision tracking and has built-in autoguider ports. Other features include all metal bearings and no external motor ables.  

The heavy-duty HEQ5i Pro mount is a smaller version of the sturdy EQ6i Pro mount also offered by Sky-Watcher. It is specially designed for observers who prefer a mount that is a bit lighter (54 pounds, fully assembled!) without sacrificing features.

This version of the HEQ5 Equatorial Mount from Sky-Watcher does not include a hand controller (one can be purchased separately if desired) but instead uses your smartphone or tablet, the included Wi-Fi Adapter and the FREE Skywatcher SynScan app to explore over 42,000 objects in the night sky at the touch of a button.  Choose where you want to go and the wifi enabled telescope will automatically slew to your chosen location.  

This HEQ5 SynScan Go-To Mount from Sky-Watcher includes a sturdy steel tripod, an accessory tray, and the SynScan V5 Hand Controller with built-in software. It has a 30 pound payload capacity, so you can use a good sized telescope with this mount.

Please Note:  The only difference between this HEQ5i Pro mount model and the HEQ5 Pro (S30400), is the way in which you control mount.  This model (S30405) does NOT come with a hand controller (and is therefore less expensive).  Instead, you use your own smartphone or tablet loaded with the SynScan app (Apple and Android, free) to align your telescope and guide it across the night sky to a huge choice of celestial objects.  If you like, you can always add a hand controller later on, but we think you will like the graphics and interactive features that the app provides.
