Well it's hard to believe.
Already it's August and the Starfest annual Star Party will be here in a little over a week, once again.
If you are planning on attending it's the weekend of August 14th to 16th, and being held
in Mount Forest, Ontario. Canada.
That's about 2 hours northwest of Toronto.
It's one of the 10th largest star parties in North America.
If you have never been, and for that matter are not sure what a star party is all about, and unsure
if you should attend, let me tell you a bit about what it is.
Usually close to 600 to a 1000 people show up at this particular star party, and bring their telescopes,
sometimes families and set up their tent/trailer to spend a few days of nightime stargazing.
During the day, there are several lectures and presentations held under a large tent on all sorts
of interesting subjects.
Every year they have a different theme. This year it is Planetary Exploration.
One of the most interest speakers I am looking forward to is none other than Brother Guy Consolmagno
an astronomer with the Vatican Observatory.
Also the co-author of the book, "Turn Left at Orion" one of my all time favorite beginner astronomy
And of course, there are vendors there as well; Khan Scope will have a display of merchandise for sale
and some of the latest gadgets and goodies in the astronomy marketplace.
It's a good time to be had by all, and I invite you to join us.
Please drop by our display to say "Hello" and introduce yourself if you happen to attend.
Also, if you are attending the event, and would like us to deliver a specific item to you at Starfest
